Built in the late 60's, China liangbang city covers an area of more than 3,000 mu with a building area of 200,000 square meters. It is the headquarters of China's second nuclear weapon research and development base after qinghai. In 1969, the college moved from qinghai province to this place. After 23 years, it moved from zitong to mianyang science and technology city in 1992. In the past 23 years, the Chinese Academy of Sciences has organized 29 nuclear tests, weaponization and finalization of atomic and hydrogen bombs, and research and development of a new generation of weapons. Yu min, wang ganchang, deng jiaxen, zhu guangya, Chen nengkuan, zhou guangzhao, guo yonghuai, cheng kaijia, peng huanwu and other distinguished scientists who won the "two bullets and one star" meritorious service medal, as well as generals zhang aiping and li kyui, all left footprints here. Up to now, it still has a complete preservation of the auditorium, office buildings, archives, model hall, information center, former residence of deng jiaxen, general building and 167 buildings of the 1960s, as well as many memorial objects such as air-raid shelters and national soul stelae forest.
